Hermès (2021)
Code, voice/thought, microphone, altar, personal artifacts, electronics, sound.
Hermès is a documented performance and installation, as well as an instrument.
This video depicts the most rudimentary religious act, a ritualistic prayer, in which the user attempts to communicate with a deity; in this case, a god-machine.
Drawing from concepts such as the occult, the hopeless/hopeful, the organic/digital, methods of communication, and the omniscience of the Internet, it aims to rekindle technology with humanity via patchable connections, feedback loops, interactivity, and ceremonial protocols.
